What to Watch on Netflix? October 2019

Hey there, you might be wondering what I’ve been up to the past weeks. I actually started my second Masters Degree in the end of September, but that is something for another post.

In short I’ve been very busy and somewhat overwhelmed because I fell ill literally the evening university classes started again. After waking up at 6am to get to my 9am lecture and not coming home until 7:30pm I do feel like I need some time to relax.

What better way to relax than to watch some things on Netflix? If you get what I’m saying you’ll definitely enjoy this watchlist I’ve created for you.

WORKIN’ MOMS

Even though this show aired in 2017, I hadn’t discovered it until just recently. Since the episodes are around 20 minutes long, it is the perfect show for when you don’t have a lot of time in the evenings or when you just need to relax a little before continuing your study session.

The show manages to tell stories of parenthood that feel very real and true. The more serious scenes feel lighter through the very funny and somewhat hilarious scenes you get to experience on this show.

Even though I’m still a student and don’t plan on getting children I do feel like the main character, Kate Foster, is very relatable for some reason. This is mainly because she tends to get herself into the most unbelievable scenarios, which I sometimes experience too.

So you’re in for a light, funny watching session? This show will be perfect for you.

ELITE

If you haven’t seen the first season yet, you really should check it out. If you have, great! Season 2 was in my opinion, just as intriguing as the first one.

It has the same dose of secrets and very real high school drama you would expect from a show like this. I love how the show manages to tackle everyday struggles and show it in such a beautiful, respectful way.

The characters are so relatable and I really feel to them when I think back about my own high school experiences.

What I like most about Elite and what they did for both seasons is that you start off with a tragic event. Slowly but surely things start to unravel and with each episode you get one step closer to finding out what exactly happened and how it happened. That is this show’s perfect recipe for success since it has me wanting to watch the next episode every single time.

The Addams Family

One of my all time favourite movies came to Netflix. Even though I have it on DVD and watched it plenty of times before it still feels nice to be able to watch it on any device through Netflix.

If you like ‘weird’ things and very, very dry humor, this is definitely a movie for you. As it says in the picture: “Weird is relative”.

This movie is extremely funny in my opinion and I can just watch it over and over and over and over again it seems. I’m sure most of you have seen it before, so I won’t go on about this one any longer, ha-ha!

The Politician – Still To Watch

This is how Netflix describes the show: “Rich kid Payton has always known he’s going to be president. But first he has to navigate the most treacherous political landscape of all: high school.”

Doesn’t that just feel like your perfect guilty pleasure type of show?! On top of that, Jessica Lange stars in the show. I grew very fond of her acting because of the roles she played in American Horror Story and I can’t get enough of her.

I might tell you what I thought of the show in a later post since I have yet to watch it! 🙂

Rating: Yet to be determined!

That was all for this watchlist. What are you currently watching? Share your suggestions in a comment and I’ll be happy to check them out too. 😉
